Thuura Coffee Project
Once water became available for irrigation, the idea of a coffee farm within this community was born.
Initially, 52 families were selected for training in the business of coffee farming and were provided with 150 coffee plants each. Later, 200 more families were equally trained and provided with coffee plants. Now, with freed-up labor, thousands of coffee plants in the ground and a US-direct market identified, this community is positioned and empowered for positive economic transformation. The children of Thuura can look forward to more, better and higher education in the future.
