Imani Scholars
Meet 12 of our Imani Scholars. During a mission trip to Meru in 2018, we were able to take portraits of these students while they visited with the Kiraria Primary School children. Several of the students came from their high schools for the day, and were wearing their school uniforms. Our sponsored high school students are enrolled in girls’ or boys’ boarding schools, which are wholistic environments conducive to a focus on education and wellness. The school year follows a trimester schedule from early January through December. Students are home for the months of April, August and December. The years of high school are referred to as Forms 1-4, and Form 4 students take the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) test that serves as the college placement exam. Several of our sponsored students have graduated from high school, and are now enrolled in colleges from Meru to Nairobi.
